How to choose your bra size?

The right size lingerie is the foundation of confidence and comfort. A poorly fitting bra can cause discomfort, lack of support, and even pain. Elomi lingerie is designed specifically for fuller-busted women, offering reliable support and the best fit. With this guide, you’ll learn how to measure your size and find the bra style that’s just right for you.

Calculating the right measurement

To find a perfectly fitting bra, you need to measure two things:

  • Underbust circumference
  • Overbust circumference

Measuring underbust circumference:

  • Place the measuring tape directly under the bust, holding it horizontally and snugly around the body.
  • The tape should be against the body, but not uncomfortably tight.

Measuring bust circumference:

  • Measure at the fullest part of the bust.
  • Keep the measuring tape horizontal and loose – do not compress the breasts.
  • Compare this measurement with your underbust circumference.

The cup size is determined by the difference between the underbust and overbust measurements.

How to check if the bra size is right?

The right bra fits comfortably and offers sufficient support. Here are some checkpoints:

Shoulder straps

Shoulder straps should sit comfortably and supportively, and you should be able to slide two fingers under the strap, but they shouldn’t be so loose that they slip off the shoulder. If the straps dig in or leave marks on the skin, they may be too tight or carrying too much weight – in this case, you should also check the bra’s band size.

Center gore

The center front refers to the point of the bra where the two cups meet. It should sit firmly against the center, ensuring it doesn’t sink in or cause discomfort.

cup

The bra cup should fit snugly and evenly, following the natural shape of the breast. The cup must not sag or create gaps. If the cup causes overflowing, it is likely too small. If the fabric wrinkles or remains empty, the cup is probably too large.

Back band

The back band must sit firmly and evenly. You should be able to fit two fingers under the band, but not be able to pull it more than a few centimeters away from the body. If the band is too tight, try a bra with a larger band size.

What to do
if you are between sizes?

Example: If 85E feels tight, try 85F or 90E.
